Messenger Integrative Medicine is inspired by the enduring, cross-cultural reverence for dreams and the creative expression of our nighttime consciousness.
Integrative practitioners work in concert with conventional medicine practitioners, allowing for the integration of conventional medicine with complementary and alternative medicine.
Angela’s early clinical experience began with traumatized youth to whom she offered individual counseling using the evidence-based practice of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Angela also provided crisis and grief counseling to their non-offending caregivers. although many of her clients suffered from re-experiencing during their sleep, their nighttime disturbances went largely unaddressed as dreams and nightmares are rarely treated in conventional therapeutic settings.
This inspired angela to further explore integrative approaches to trauma recovery. Integrative medicine is a healing-oriented, evidence-based, holistic, mind-body-spirit approach to health. Angela’s focus has sharpened to somatic dreamwork with trauma-exposed youth & adults to accelerate recovery from PTSD and related conditions through a targeted approach centered on restorative sleep and healthy dreaming.
